Malaysians: No China Visa Needed in 2026!

Since July 2025, Malaysian passport holders enjoy 30-day visa-free entry to China. You still need a Tibet Travel Permit (TTP) to enter Tibet — and that's where we come in. We process your TTP and all additional permits. You just send us your passport scan. That's it.

How to Get There

Kuala Lumpur → Lhasa: Two Easy Routes

No direct flights, but the connection is simple. Both routes take you from KL to Lhasa in a single travel day.

🛫 Route 1: Via Chengdu (Recommended)

KL → Chengdu: AirAsia / Malindo / China Southern, 4-4.5 hours, from ~RM 600 round-trip

Chengdu → Lhasa: Air China / Sichuan Airlines, 2.5 hours, included in your tour package

Why this route: Best flight frequency (4-6 daily from KL). You can spend a night in Chengdu (famous Sichuan food!) before the Lhasa flight the next morning. This is what 90% of our Malaysian clients choose.

🛫 Route 2: Via Kunming (Shortest Flight)

KL → Kunming: AirAsia, 3.5-4 hours, from ~RM 500 round-trip

Kunming → Lhasa: China Eastern / Lucky Air, 2 hours, included in your tour package

Why this route: Shortest total flight time from KL. Kunming (1,890m) gives you a gentle introduction to altitude before Lhasa (3,650m). Good for those who want to minimize travel time.

💡 Pro tip: Fly to Chengdu/Kunming a day early. Rest overnight. Take the morning flight to Lhasa. Arrive refreshed and ready for altitude acclimatization. We'll arrange your airport pickup in Lhasa.

FAQ for Malaysians

Semua Yang Anda Perlu Tahu

Everything you need to know — in English, 中文, and BM.

Yes — since July 2025, Malaysian passport holders can enter China visa-free for up to 30 days. However, the Tibet Travel Permit (TTP) is separate and still required. You cannot board a flight to Lhasa without a TTP. We arrange it for you — permit applications coordinated in-house for Malaysian travelers.

Route 1 (Recommended): KL → Chengdu (AirAsia ~4.5h, from RM 600) → Lhasa (2.5h). Daily flights, best frequency.
Route 2: KL → Kunming (AirAsia ~3.75h, from RM 500) → Lhasa (2h). Shortest total flight time.
We recommend arriving in Chengdu/Kunming one day before your Lhasa flight — rest overnight, then take the morning flight to Lhasa.

We offer halal-friendly and pure vegetarian options for Malaysian travelers. Just tell us your dietary requirements when booking. Lhasa also has excellent Indian, Nepali, and Chinese restaurants. We know where to take you.

We're the first Tibet travel agency to display prices in Malaysian Ringgit — no USD conversion guesswork. The price you see includes: all permits, accommodation, meals (as specified), guide, transport, and oxygen support. NOT included: KL↔China flights (RM 500-800 round trip), travel insurance (~RM 100-200), personal expenses. No hidden charges — we publish everything.

Our guides speak English and Chinese fluently. We also have basic Bahasa Malaysia support for essential communication. For Malaysian Chinese travelers, we can arrange Mandarin/Cantonese-speaking guides on request. Kami ada sokongan Bahasa Malaysia asas untuk membantu anda.

Yes. We understand the importance of daily prayers for our Muslim travelers. We schedule the itinerary with prayer time considerations and can help you find quiet spaces. Halal food options are available with advance notice. Kami hormati keperluan ibadah anda.

Absolutely safe. Lhasa (3,650m) is a modern city with international-standard hotels and medical facilities. For altitude: we build acclimatization into every itinerary — you rest on arrival day, we ascend gradually, and every vehicle carries oxygen. Most people feel normal within 24-48 hours. If you've been to Kinabalu (4,095m), Lhasa is actually lower.

May–October is the best window. Daytime 15-25°C in Lhasa, perfect for sightseeing. July–August is warmest but busiest. For Kailash: May–September, with June–July being the best months. Avoid: February–March (Tibetan New Year — many places closed, no permits processed). Malaysian school holidays in May–June and November–December — book early for these periods.
