This is Tibet at its most intimate. You'll walk the same stone paths that pilgrims have traveled for 1,300 years, stand beneath the golden roofs of the Potala Palace, watch monks debate Buddhist philosophy in a 600-year-old courtyard, and share butter tea in a Tibetan family home. No rushing. No shopping stops. Just the real Lhasa.

Is this tour suitable for first-time Tibet visitors?
Absolutely — this is our most popular tour for first-timers. The itinerary is designed with gradual acclimatization (you rest on Day 1, and Lhasa is at 3,650m — high but manageable). We've had travelers aged 22 to 78 complete this tour comfortably.
When should I book?
We recommend booking 45–60 days before your travel date. Tibet Travel Permit processing takes 15–20 working days. Peak season (May–September) and the Tibetan New Year period fill up 2–3 months in advance.
What about altitude sickness?
Our itinerary is designed to minimize altitude risk. Day 1 is pure rest. Day 2–3 involve moderate walking in Lhasa (3,650m). We only go higher (Yamdrok, 4,400m) on Day 4 once you're acclimatized. Every vehicle carries oxygen. Our guide monitors everyone daily. Read our full altitude guide
here.
Can you customize this tour?
